COFCO Corporation co-organized the 5th China Food Safety Forum which was held in Beijing on June 17, 2013. The mission of this session was to mobilize the whole society to care about, support and take part in the food safety cause.
Food safety is significant to people’s life. To guarantee it, the role of the social system, the market mechanism and the law should be played. The government, enterprises and the public should take due responsibilities. Synergy should be developed.
The government should reform its function and management model, innovate in supervision, and develop a scientific system covering from farmland to dining table on the macro basis. Enterprises should take on its social responsibilities and develop the traceability mechanism on the micro basis. The public should have the sense of responsibility to support this cause by giving feedback and come up with suggestions.
COFCO Corporation considers food safety as its core competitiveness, critical to its sustainability. It is making itself an example.
